Perez hit 'main objective' with Baku Sprint win after huge 'pressure'

Image
Sergio Perez says he delivered on his "main objective" in the Formula 1 Sprint race in Azerbaijan, after taking the victory in Baku. Starting second, Perez held position at the start before the Safety Car was deployed early on for Yuki Tsunoda's wall-strike. On the restart, Perez ran second behind leader Charles Leclerc before breezing past with the assist of the DRS to take a first sprint race victory of his career - and take two points out of title rival Max Verstappen with the lead now down to 12 points. And Perez says that given the new format of just one practice session, two qualifying and then the sprint, it has put the engineers under a lot of pressure . After a difficult two-year spell with McLaren resulted in him leaving the team at the end of 2022, Ricciardo opted to watch from the sidelines in 2023, having taken a reserve driver position at Red Bull. However, the Australian has previously suggested that he hopes to return to the grid next year, though there do not currently look to be many positions opening up with the leading teams. Despite this, Ricciardo isn't worried and acknowledges that his decision not to race in 2023 brought with it an element of "risk". Ricciardo not 'scared' by lack of 2024 F1 seats "It doesn't scare me. It's always been like that," Ricciardo told Top Gear . "And I knew this was going to be a risk obviously removing myself from a seat. But I think it's clear what I don't want. I don't want [just] any seat

SAN FRANSICO: Elon Musk said on Wednesday that electric vehicle (EV) giant Tesla likely will launch full self -drive Technology this year and generate significant profits that offset some of the margin pressure it's facing due to aggressive price cuts. Netflix began the year with another burst in subscriber growth that eclipsed analysts’ projections for the third consecutive quarter SAN FRANCISCO -- Netflix began the year with another burst in subscriber growth that eclipsed analysts’ projections for the third consecutive quarter , providing further evidence the video streaming service has regained its momentum after a jarring downturn in customers prompted a shake up. The 1.75 million gain in Netflix subscribers reported Tuesday for the January-March period was nearly 550,000 more than the average estimate among among analysts surveyed by FactSet. Although the subscriber increase was smaller than Netflix has historically reported for the first quarter, it was a stark contrast to the loss of 200,000 subscribers that the Los Gatos, California, company sustained at the same time last year. That unexpected erosion, marking Netflix’s first quarter ly losses in more than a decade, prompted management to roll out a low-priced version of
