Nottingham Forest will look to end a run of five Premier League Game s without a win when they host Tottenham on Friday night. Steve Cooper's squad kept their manager in his job for another week at least with a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Wolves last time out and they still hold a five-point lead over the bottom three despite their severe drop in form. Spurs put a stop to a rut of their own as they thumped a leggy Newcastle side 4-1 in north London, though Ange Postecoglou's outfit remain three points off the Champions League qualification pace. Erik ten Hag praises Harry Maguire over return to Man Utd lineup

Image
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has praised Harry Maguire for "taking his chance" to get back into the team and put the onus onto Raphael Varane to reclaim his place. Maguire, having lost his starting place last season and been stripped of the captaincy during summer as a result not playing regularly, could have left Old Trafford ahead of 2023/24. A £30m transfer fee was agreed with West Ham United, with Maguire accepting a reduced contract to move to east London but requesting a pay-off from Manchester United to offset lost earnings. Failure to reach an agreement on that front eventually led to the proposed deal's collapse. To his credit, Maguire has always maintained a determination to fight for his place at Old Trafford. That didn't initially seem to be going well for him, with Ten Hag favouring a partnership between Varane and Lisandro Martinez at the back, and then plugging in Victor Lindelof as a first alternative. But when Varane joined Martinez on the s...

FC Copenhagen vs Man Utd - Champions League: TV channel, team news, lineups & prediction

Manchester United head to the Danish capital in the Champions League this week looking to nurture some momentum off the back of a welcome late win over Fulham on Saturday. It took a 91st minute winner from Bruno Fernandes at Craven Cottage to ease the growing pressure on United following back-to-back 3-0 home defeats to Manchester City and Newcastle. The reverse fixture of this week's FC Copenhagen clash played last month has yielded United's only European victory of the season so far, having earlier suffered losses to Bayern Munich and Galatasaray. Andre Onana played a massive role by saving a late penalty. Erik ten Hag's team are still up against it when it comes to reaching the Champions League knockout stages, but victory in Denmark would be a huge boost if they can get it. What time does FC Copenhagen vs Man Utd kick-off? Location : Copenhagen, Denmark Stadium : Parken Stadium Date : Wednesday 8 November Kick-off Time : 20:00 (GMT) / 15:00 (ET) / 12:00 (PT) Referee : ...

Arsenal predicted lineup vs Sheffield United - Premier League

Image
After securing a vital victory against Sevilla in the Champions League on Tuesday evening, attention now turns back to the Premier League for Arsenal. A Gabriel Jesus-inspired Arsenal got their European campaign back on track in Spain, while also ridding themselves of a mediocre performance against Chelsea in a 2-2 draw last weekend. The Gunners looked more like themselves in Seville, beating the Europa League champions 2-1 to move back to the top of Group B. Mikel Arteta's team welcome struggling Sheffield United to the Emirates this weekend in their first home fixture since the international break, a routine victory on paper. The Blades have only picked up one point this season, conceding 24 goals in the process and sitting rock bottom of the Premier League table. With one major injury concern, here is how Arteta could line up for the visit of Paul Heckingbottom's side.
